Where It All Began: My Lash Course with Hashuk

Every journey starts with a single step, and mine began with a lash course at Hashuk. I remember walking into the house, excited yet nervous, eager to master the art of lash extensions. Learning from Hashuk was an incredible experience—she is not only a skilled lash artist but also an inspiring mentor. Her guidance and techniques helped lay the foundation for my skills, giving me the confidence to step into the lash industry.

But like every beginner, I quickly realized that theory and practice are two very different things. Applying lashes on a mannequin was one thing, but working on real clients came with a whole new set of challenges. Precision, speed, and understanding different eye shapes all required patience and practice. I left the course with a certificate in hand, but I knew the real learning had just begun.

The Struggles of a Beginner Lash Tech

No one really talks about how hard it is at the start. The pressure to meet client expectations, the struggle of perfecting techniques, and the self-doubt that creeps in after every set that doesn’t turn out as expected. It took me hours to do a single set, and sometimes, clients weren’t completely satisfied. I wanted to create flawless, beautiful lashes, but like any skill, it took time to refine.

On top of that, English not being my first language made things even more challenging. I sometimes struggled to explain aftercare or recommend styles, which made me feel frustrated and insecure. But instead of letting it hold me back, I turned it into motivation. I practiced communication, learned key lash terminology, and found ways to make my clients feel comfortable and understood—regardless of language barriers.

Owning a business isn’t just about lashing. It’s about managing bookings, handling cancellations, dealing with clients who don’t show up, and constantly investing in better products. Some days were tough, and I questioned if I had made the right choice. But deep down, I knew giving up wasn’t an option.

Finding My Passion & Building Connections

Fast forward to today, and I can confidently say that becoming a lash artist was the best decision of my life. What once felt like a struggle is now my passion. Over the years, I’ve built confidence, mastered my craft, and most importantly, connected with so many amazing clients.

Lashing isn’t just about making someone’s eyes look beautiful—it’s about the relationships you build. Clients come in for lashes, but they stay for the experience, the comfort, and the trust they have in you. Some of my clients have become great friends, and seeing their faces light up after a fresh set makes all the hard work worth it.

I now realize that growth happens when you push through the struggles. Every difficult client, every long day, every mistake was shaping me into the artist and business owner I am today. And I wouldn’t change a thing.

I know none of this would have been possible without God’s guidance, strength, and favor. There were moments I wanted to quit, times when I doubted myself, but through prayer, faith, and perseverance, I kept going. God never gives us a vision without the ability to fulfill it. He placed this dream in my heart for a reason, and now, I’m walking in the blessings He had waiting for me all along.
